Hamilton Underground is the best new coffee shop in Hamilton Heights. Yes, I may be biased, but it doesn’t mean I’m wrong!!!

My name is Jessica. Welcome to Hamilton Underground.

I moved to Brooklyn from the DR when I was a child. Attending public school I learned English and about New York City. When I was 21 I moved across the river to Manhattan and never looked back.

In my 20’s I was a club kid. I worked and hung out in some of the coolest places. As I approached 30 I transformed into a personal chef as a result of my passion and love of food. A few years later I met my soon to be husband, had our son, moved to Hamilton Heights and life got big.

My true calling became clear a couple years ago. That calling is coffee! I lived for coffee after the late nights in the clubs, I lived on coffee working as a chef. I needed coffee to get through raising a baby and to this day nothing makes me happier than that first sip of my latte in the morning.

Shortly after the COVID lockdown I started working for a friend as a barista in Inwood. This quickly led to a new job managing a large coffee shop in Washington Heights. Finally, it was time, and after a quick conversation with my family Hamilton Underground was borne.

As a barista, chef and lover of food I have always sought adventure and perfection in quality and flavor. I am inviting you to share in the outcome of my passion, combining the best flavors and experiences. I am so happy to bring this to my community, Hamilton Heights, through my shop, Hamilton Underground.

Founded in 2008 by two friends with a passion for coffee, Afficionado has grown into a leading wholesale and consumer brand - built on the lasting relationships with farmers and their communities around the world.

Colson Pastries

Inspired by the artistry of traditional bakeshops frequented in France and Belgium, in the tradition of Hubert Colson’s namesake establishment in Mons, Belgium. Colson Patisserie has satisfied the insatiable cravings of Brooklyn neighbors since its Park Slope doors opened in 2006. The Colson team consists of seasoned pastry chefs, expert bakers, and a band of genuine coffee nerds.

The Good Batch

At The Good Batch, cookies make our world go round. Chef Anna Gordon introduced her one-of-a-kind cookies to New York City at the Brooklyn Flea in 2010.

Only the finest available ingredients are used, handled by our team with love and care, using recipes and methods inherited from generations of artisan bakers and pastry chefs with our own special touch.
